'Bus Episodes'

Episode 1

Today was a relief as it had a nice dry morning. Got on the bus as usual, and one thing about Penang buses (and i think it's depending on the area that you stay and stuff), it's like a tin of sardines if the time is really wrong. So yeah, i was hanging out very near the entrance of the bus and a few times i had a 'mini-movie' replaying in my head if the bus driver would suddenly put on the brakes hard. I would be thrown to the front (through the door actually) or just fall down and hit my head near the support beams or something. Yeah. But nothing really dangerous happened.(Disclaimer:- I do not endorse standing near the entrance of the bus, just that today it was a bit packed and standing there seemed like a rational thing to do ;-).

Episode 2

Got off the sardine bus at Komtar and while waiting for the MPPP's gift, the Free Shuttle bus from Heaven, i saw some girl getting off one of 'em smaller sardine busses (which doesn't mean there are any less people, it's just smaller...). She tripped or something and fell down. I was a bit shocked (and later i was kind of regretting being so stoned, but it was morning after all), and only tried to help her afterwards. She was down for about few seconds and i was the closest to her. Guess what i did? (i'm still kicking myself till now, and it's 9 pm). I picked up her water bottle and handed it to her. She seemed alrite if not slightly shaken by the experience. Poor dear. And damn i should have helped her up or something. Real lame.....

Episode 3

As i worked till over 6.40 pm awaiting some final drafts to be verified and editted by my immediate superior. I came out and "lo' and behold", there wasn't any more buses.....So i walked, and i acutally took a wrong turn that didn't end up taking me anywhere near Cititel. But anyways that Komtar building is so tall, i just need to walk towards it. It was alrite. Which brings me to a conclusion that you can never get lost IN Penang....just maybe that this applies to only those places where everyone knows where to go....

Note (words used and expressions):-

  1. 'Penang' - It's in Malaysia, a busy place connected by a really long bridge (by my standards), very busy and a few times more exciting than where i'm from, Taiping (Notice i use 'exciting' and not 'better', sorry Penang-ites, home is still home, wherever you are...)
  2. 'Yeah / So yeah' - Consecutively, Furthermore, Afterwards, Then, "so that was it" etc etc.
  3. 'Komtar' - Supposedly THE landmark of landmarks in Penand, you can't miss it, if you actually do, it means your very near the beaches or the inner part of the island.
  4. 'MPPP' - Majlis Perbandaran Pulau Pinang or The Penang Town Council
  5. "Lo and behold" - "Taaa Daaa!" or in our local tongue, "Jheng Jheng Jheng!"
  6. 'Taiping' - Small town located in the northern middle part of Peninsular Malaysia, more precisely Perak, has beautiful scenery, and the best bunch of people i know come from there ;-)

Thanks for hanging around.

;-)
