'Into The Flood Again'

Yeah, well basically the beginning of the day messed up pretty much else. It rained. Heavily. And so i spent a good part of the morning at the ground floor with the other tenants watching the rain slow down. The wind was pretty nasty. But just to make it for work, and when the time seemed opportune, i made a run for it. Not as easy as i thought. I ended up playing a strategy game where i had to avoid getting wet at every turn to the bus stop.

My biggest challenge was somewhere in the middle of my way to the stop. The main road. It had a really bad contour where rain was collected. And yeah, as usual, the cars never slowed down for anyone. Some of them i think were probably actually aiming for those problem areas in the road to drench the pedestrians who were side-walking (or i'm just imagining things, thought some of them seemed to want me wet pretty bad...). So yeah, it was pretty much screwed up for me until the place jammed and traffic was forced to a standstill, then i took that moment to run and get the heck outta that spot.

Reached the office at 9 am sharp, but with one big problem. My shoes weren't waterproof, and hardly what u'd call leather either. So i spent practically 8 hours + in wet, uncomfortable socks. Even the book i brought along was a bit damp after the journey. And by the way i was pretty glad i had a bus to take me to work, 'cause in the town area, flash floods were everywhere.

If it rains again, i'm going to work tomorrow in my casuals, then maybe do a superman in the company toilet or something.
