On the way to work today, in the bus as i was listening to Deftones blaring from my cd walkman (level 8 on the volume meter), somewhere in the middle of 'Hexagram' - where Chino was singing : and the carbomb clicks, clicks, clicks, .... faint smile - i had a slight tingle in my eyes, and for a dumb moment : i thought i was going to tear.

Work has been migraine inducing, due to the fact that my immediate superior has taken the week off to clear her leaves - somewhere in Hong Kong by now, i'm guessing. With no one to give me a proper lead, and with the amazingly coincidental occurence of problems with the portfolio which i'm holding - it's no wonder why my cells in the head are revolting. Well, maybe it's just these two days - hopefully. Got to give credit to my colleagues though, they help whenever they can / when i ask (but they've got their own a.c.o.p to contend with).

"So what do you think of the job so far?"
"It's alrite, time passes by pretty fast"
"Yeah, we're always busy"
"So do you think you're ready to be confirmed here?"
"What do you think of my work so far?"
"Well, according to ........, you're getting pretty quick, but you still lack control and independence."
"Really?"
Manager goes over my appraisal report. I wondered if the extent of our politeness and protocol signified the death of my soul.
"Well, she gave you a good comment here". Manager points to a part of the paper which from where i was seated, was seen as two black lines.
"You've got good control over the English language. Good grammar. We can never train that."
Put them in front of a TV with Sesame Street on. Repeat it for a couple of years or so. Yeah, that'll do it.
"O-K". I smile like an idiot.
"Well, i guess i'll be seeing you again in September."
Two more months. This is by far, the longest probation period i have to go through since graduation.
So much for a system.
( _")
P.s. I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Heard that Love Me Butch will be playing in the Hall next to where i work. Loud music and screaming, live - it's been a while.
