This week i've learnt how to cut costs of coming back from the station to home. Rode on of 'em old red busses to Taiping and got off near some coffeeshop. A taxi cab would've cost MYR6-00. This ride was MYR0-85. Had a semi-decent conversation with a Malay man on it who was back for the weekend as well from KL. Topics ranged from ticket prices to travelling time etc etc. It was the weather i think, and it seems that i have gained the ability to strike up conversations with anyone nowadays. Scary.
Got down my stop (I had to walk for about 10 - 15 minutes from where i got off, the bus didn't pass any direct roads leading to my home), and realised that so much has changed. There were no longer houses there. All demolished to make way for God knows what. And probably what was supposed to be there was forgotten by the people who planned it in the first place. It was literally a jungle. Halfway walking to some obscure short-cut which led to my house, rustling sounds were heard from the nearby shrub and a snake appeared out of it and crossed the road, maybe about one and a half metres away from me.
Well, that was about 30 seconds of adrenaline right there.
Crossed the railway tracks to discover that the path was walled by some new housing development. And so i cursed my way around it while having some kid tailing me for a while on his bicycle. The rest of the walking was pretty old stuff. I had after all been walking along the same road during my whole secondary education (to school and back).
And the moment i got back, heaving my bag into the porch and hiding my earphones before my mum would complain about me being in danger of anything which i couldn't hear (vehicles driving out of control, but honking to warn me is a good example) - It started to drizzle.
It was nice to be back. As usually curt as it is.
