Let's get to the job shall we? :-) . Well, my 1st day working wasn't what you can call bad, it was all very very confusing and i hope that things will lighten on my way, shine on some shades, u know, things like that ;-). The 1st 8 hours went by like nothing and i was already preparing myself for the company dinner!, yeah, unbelievable a newbie at a company dinner, fully sponsored 8 course meal with free-flows (Yum, yum: Beer, whisky and red wine). Thank God i didn't get myself too high as i had to drive home. But the day didn't exactly end like that!
Just as things were getting interesting, newbies don't get to participate in the lucky draw, but hey a free Fila t-shirt and a marvelous dinner, who's complaining? ;-) , i received a few calls from my Taiping buds that they were in the vicinity of Gurney, and that they were going to watch The Eye 10 (A ridiculous sequel number), so i thought, "What the heck, you're not really THAT drunk anyways....". So i left as the 'curtains' to the dinner was closing.
Got myself lost for about 10 minutes or so 'cause i missed a really narrow turning (Not 'cause i was high), but managed to make it right before the movie was about to screen (12:15 am). Right before the i left the dinner, i had already asked one of my buds to get an extra ticket for me so i wasn't really worried. Met them at some snooker joint on the same floor as the theater playing foosball (Correct me if i'm wrong, the game of simulated football with the use of rods, haha, buta terms). After which they decided to split into groups of 2: One for the loo and the other for the popcorn. As i walked along them who decided for the washroom, they told me, "Aiyah!, damn man wong, we forgot your ticket!". So in my head i was like, ".....O.....K.......".
But they didn't let me leave just yet, they hatched a plan:
- There was a total of 6 of us, so, "Wong, just 'meld' with us...."
- I felt horribly wrong in my stomach, mostly 'cause i never did this before, sneaking into a cineplex
- Everyone acted like their natural self, to fool the ticket collectors, i had to stick myself in between to avoid looking like the odd one out.
It worked!. But as we were walking into the cinema, i realised one thing, "Yeah, sure i passed the 1st stage, but what about me having one of those ticket stubs for proof later?". After which one of them handed me their stub and smiled. I was touched that one of my buds would risk themselves being found out. However as soon as we picked our places (At random!), my fears subsided.
The movie was alrite. I wouldn't call it a horror movie per se. For me, it was more of an entertainment type movie. Fans of 'The Eye', take note!.
After the show, i decided to drive home to Taiping with them, as i felt like i needed some company, also their presence served as a motivation for me to drive at night. It was a cool move. I headed back to my place in Tmn. Kristal and took some of the belongings that i needed and met up with them again at some mamak place. As i was drinking my cup of teh o panas, my friend turned to me and asked, "So how was my acting?", to which i replied, "Huh?!!.....". I had been taken for a ride. A post April Fool ride. I didn't get in sneaking between them, i had a ticked bought without realising it. The best thing was, everybody was laughing on the way in (And i guessed i was a bit too tipsy to notice....), and I THOUGHT that they loved watching the look on my face passing the 1st stage, but risking it all for the impromptu ticket stub practice. I only found out about it 2 hours and a half after watching the movie. They only found out that i knew the REAL story then too. It was pretty good. The BEST April Fool trick that i kena-ed in years!!! (Hehe, thanks, guys!!! ;-)
The journey home was pretty swift, again the road signs helped tremendously.
And yeah, i have been awake for about 24 hours now (1&1/2 hours of 'preparing to go to work', 9 hours of work, 4 hours of dinner, 2 hours of movie, 1&1/2 hours of mamak, 1&1/2 hours of travelling back to Taiping, 1&1/2 hours for early breakfast, and around 2 hours of blogging.....).
I wanna dream now.
;-)
