I must say, sometimes things have a way on working out by themselves and i'm just amazed at how my weekend just went and did that. Nothing to be down about, all good and it justified a lame start of a week and of course, a horrible Thursday.
On Friday, i was invited to Penang Medical College, to see some sorta 'acoustic nite' thingie. Saw the setlist and went, "..uhm..", as it was all pretty slow, 'friendly' songs. But yeah the performances were great regardless of the song choices. But yeah i agree with K.L. who took me there, it could've used some rock and roll. But yeahs, i wasn't complaining. It was a good nite to begin my weekend in Penang. To top that up, they also had a 'capoiera' performance before the mini-concert ended. Went for a supper session and met some of K.L's friends which was totally cool. People who know how to work AND have fun are by far the most interesting. And yeah went sorta clubbing too after that. Had my 1st 'Killkenny', haha, i can't spell it to save my life, but it was an Irish draft or something. And it was pretty smooth. And yeah i had to work half day on Saturday (pretty nuts but i didn't have problems working on Saturday).
Saturday was alrite. That recording session which i was talking about didn't go as expected (pros and cons there) but it was interesting to see what could be made with a guitar (just chords nothing fancy), a viola and a piano. The downloading of the recording software didn't go too well. And it wasn't finished even when we left. But we sort of used something else to do the recording akan tetapi, somehow the thing had a life of its own and didn't want to be saved. So yeah i have nothing to show for it, save for the accounts of the people who were there: Andrew, Jing and Sean (all of whom are in my affiliated blogs list). But it was alrite, and yeah i'd love to do it again (Note: Thanks Andrew, ur playing was real cool, Sean for being totally selamber and kaki lepak and lastly Jing, thanks for opening up ur house for the recording). And yeah it was an experience. And it was cool to finally meet Sean, whom i had an interesting joint msn conversation with previously in weeks past
Today i tagged along with my 'landlady' to Penang 1st AOG, it was a nice, warm (not the temperature, i was nearly freezing when i came out, haha) and comfortable. They had a guest speaker who was pretty good with words and portraying situations. And the message was good. It was about crying to God about mercy. And how we are all where we are because of His mercy. Pretty thought provoking and humbling.
So after having lunch at home, i slept for a good 6 hours (I think), which means that i'll probably be having a tough time sleeping tonite. And yup, back to work again tomorrow. Can't wait to see what else turns up around the bend for me.
Nite.
