Recently as with the purchase of a certain Daihatsu Aura, i became a member of the "Preserve MWKH's Vehicle Club". Today i had to take the said vehicle to the repairs 'cause yesterday as i waited for me Mum in Aulong, the air conditioner blew up and white fumes started spewing out from the air conditioning outlets....and all of this was happening as i was trying to take a nap in the car, so imagine my expression!. I quicky switched off the air conditioning and after that i could 'frizzle frying' sounds, sounds that you would normally get at a frying pan. I thought that maybe the CFC might have turned acid on me and was starting to eat its way through the cooling system, anyways after about 10 minutes, the sound stopped and the air conditioning was totally dead.
So today, i spent an odd hour or so admiring the delicate art of repairing an auto accessory. And of course, the business minded staff there tried convincing me to replace other parts too that according to his theory, had contributed to the rupture of the air conditioner. I didn't 'buy' it. So i just had the main part, which i saw leak in the 'ol leak test conducted in the basin method. Yeah put a gun to my head, but i'll get back to the repair of the other parts, IF they start acting up too.
So basically i had to spend this much (Pay attention next time to the auto accessory repairs on your vehicle, and tell me if i've just been had) :
Plug (the part that was leaking....) ---> Rm 25
Service costs ---> Rm 30
CFC (Yes i killed some ozone today) ---> Rm 15
Total ---> Rm 70
Also in addition to the rupture, i had discovered that my the driver's power window was a bit faulty as well. It could wind down but had serious difficulty winding up. Science lessons has thought me that basically if there's problems with movement, friction is involved ;-). So i spent some time last night lubricating the base of that particular window with WD40, worked for a while. Asked a 2nd opinion from the auto-accs staff and they said, have to examine the motor, taking the door apart and stuff like that, so yeah, i'll probably get that solved next visit.
Well, i suppose that the silver lining from this experience was finding out a nearby coffee shop that served a good bowl of kuey teow soup with superb chilli oil. It was a great tea. The coffee wasn't bad too ;-).
See ya later.
