"Hey....something's wrong with you, definitely, surely. You have a dark aura. Absolutely dark, no kidding", said the fortune teller as he stared at my face. Then i woke up. I hate it when my mind plays tricks on me like that, and this was just during the bus ride to Butterworth. Damn.
It seems that Butterworth has encountered some changes, after all, i have not been there for more than a year now, i wasn't too sure where the stairway that leads to the ferry terminal was anymore. Good thing i wasn't the only guy around at the time. Yeap, follow the leader; Monkey see, Monkey do.
Suprisingly it was pretty easy to find my way to Green Hall, just needed one person to show me. And the sign board for the company was pretty hard to miss once i turned into the lane. The person who interviewed me was pretty nice and quiet, and hardly blunt (which is a good thing, in small doses). Brief rundown on my questions list (Thank God i did it, and it really helped!):
1. What did you do in your previous company / accomplished?
2. Why did you leave?
3. What made you stay as long as you did?
4. What do you want in life (pretty deep, but yeah, why the hell not?)
5. What are your short term plans/long term plans?
6. How can you contribute to this company / Why should we take you in?
7. How long do you plan to stay with us, if you are accepted into this company?
8. What are your skills / What are your strengths?
9. What are your weaknesses?
10. What kind of person are you?
11. Your family background?
Questions in green were used in the interview
The tough questions (latter 3) were'nt used at all!!
So yeah, i briefly answered them all as best as i could, hopefully the company sees some gem in me, ;-). The interview ended pretty abruptly as it was conducted very close to recess. Damn my head again for forgetting to ask about the salary offered. Well, that can wait i suppose, the job does seem to be very cosy and nice. Desktops everywhere with air conditioning. Sweet!.
Had lunch at McDs, yeah strange, can't help myself though i watched 'Supersize Me' (click here for more info).
A helpless but adequately informed member of the public in progress. Spent a good few hours walking around Prangin mall, no offense to Penang-ites, but this building has the workings of a really demented mind behind it, sure, i can understand that everyone would have to walk that extra mile to reach each level and so, the distance would allow more shops to expose it's contents, services and products to the members of the public; but get this: It gets tiresome after a while and anyone would be cursing the structure as well as the building planner. I gathered that much during those few hours, and yeah doesn't everyone think when they are bored?, ;-).
The last hour was pretty cool as i managed to meet up with Jing (see 2nd link on your right, Affiliated Blogs under ~Jinx~) and lepaked for less than an hour while i was waiting for my bus. Pretty fun to meet new people. The time just burned away through our conversations. Thanks again for dropping by Jing!, and i'll promise to pick the next tab if i get the job, ;-).
All in all, the trip was alritey if not for the fortune teller dream sequence which messed it up for an hour or so. Hehe. And yeah by the way for those who do not think that i'm a nerd; you're slightly off:
Goodnight!
